Standard Disclaimer:
The purpose of Book Review Friday is just to give bloggers who are reviewing christian books a chance to share their reviews and personal opinions with others who are seeking or prefer to read Christian based books opposed to secular books and want to know others opinions of what is out there.
There is no personal agenda, other than to encourage and support authors and books that are out there to edify the Word of God; Not to speak against or debate but to lift up the Word of God.
If someone either comes across a link on “Book Review Friday” or I discover a link to a book that is either secular, non-edifying or controversial enough to take away from the Word of God, I will remove the link.
Second offense will mean removal from the blogroll of Christian Book Reviewers that is posted.
How is non Chrisitan defined?
- Anything on the blog or book review that is controversial, against Christianity, divisive or non-edifying.
- Mental Garbage; What is Mental Garbage?
- Basically, if it is meant to create controversy or lead people away and not to Christ, it will not be supported.
- Mental Garbage as covered via some of the things that Paul covered in Galatians 5:19-20:
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions (Galatians 5:19-20 NIV)
The point of being a Christian Book Reviewer is supposed to be about sharing the love for books and particularly a love for books that lift up God and His word and to be a source of entertainment, spiritual growth and maturity and encouragement.
If a book has questionable content (and as book reviewers there are some books we have no control over what we are sent review), don’t hesitate to share to allow readers to be able to discern if they should or should not read it.
True there are somethings that may not cause us to stumble, but for others, it can be a stumbling block for someone else.
Ref: (1 John 3:4; Gal. 5:19-21,1 Cor. 6:9-10,Eph. 5:5-6; Col. 3:8; Rev. 21:8)
And if anything let Phillipians 4:8, be a great guide:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things“ (Philippians 4:8).
